There are several ways to connect 4 microphones to the EVOBOX karaoke systems. Let’s look at an example using SE • 200D digital microphones (two sets). As the manufacturer, we recommend these specific microphones because they were designed primarily for singing and feature tight integration with our karaoke systems.
Method 1 — Directly to the karaoke system.
This applies only to the Hi-End EVOBOX Premium karaoke system. Microphones are connected to the system using balanced TRS 6.3 (Jack) microphone inputs. Balanced XLR-TRS audio cables are included with the SE • 200D microphones.
Methods 2 and 3 apply to the following karaoke systems: EVOBOX, EVOBOX Plus, EVOBOX Club.
Method 2 — Via the MIX.OUT connector (on the microphone receiver) directly to the karaoke system.
This connection requires a Jack 6.3 – Jack 6.3 audio cable (not included, must be purchased separately). Connection diagram: Connect the Jack 6.3 – Jack 6.3 audio cable to the MIX.OUT connector of the first microphone base, and the other end to the MIC 1 connector on the karaoke system. Similarly, connect the MIX.OUT connector of the second microphone receiver to the MIC 2 connector on the karaoke system.
⚠️ IMPORTANT!
— On the karaoke system side, microphone sound adjustment is only possible in pairs. There is no individual adjustment for each of the 4 microphones (except for adjusting the volume of each microphone using the physical knobs on the microphone receivers). The settings for microphone 1 = MIC 1 apply to the first pair of microphones, and MIC 2 applies to the second pair.
— There may be a slight decrease in noise immunity and headroom volume.
— Singing scoring will be unavailable.
Method 3 — Via a mixing console (mixer).
If fine individual adjustment of each of the four microphones is critical for your needs, using a mixing console is an excellent solution.
⚠️ IMPORTANT!
There is a huge variety of mixing consoles available on the market across various price ranges. Choosing a specific model depends entirely on your personal needs, tasks, and budget. It is a great idea to consult with professional audio equipment installers. Another excellent way to check whether a mixer is right for you is to rent the chosen model for a short term and experiment with the settings before making a final decision.
